Use the Outlook app... Native Google Client is for Gmail and native iOS Client is for iCloud. Outlook is for O365.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone and I'm non against using the Outlook app either. However, how does that effect base of operations contact and agenda sync? I'g assuming all contact and calendar event cosmos has to then be done from within the app. Volition Outlook contact then show up under iOS contacts like they would if you were to use the born mail service app? Pardon my naivety as I've non used the Outlook app previously on neither iOS and Android devices.
Likewise, what happens if they have other email accounts setup within the built-in mail app? Should I migrate those to Outlook too or leave them in the congenital-in app? I potentially see people lament most having to use 2 dissimilar mail service applications on their devices.

You lot can create contacts in the native os and save them in commutation as long as your account is added to the telephone. This volition exist washed if you utilize the Outlook app anyways.

I only ditched the Outlook app on my Samsung S9. Couldn't deal with no notifications and then them coming in two dozen at a time, sometimes hours later. Seems many others have the same issue.
Don't know if it's a Samsung, Android or Microsoft trouble only I gave upward and went dorsum to the native Android/Samsung/Whatever app.

I take not tried on my iPhone, but I don't remember the Outlook application interacts with iOS contacts and Calendars. I only have mine connected to my office business relationship. My google Calendar alerts come up from my iOS agenda (personal) and my work stuff from Outlook app.

Android doesn't really have a native mail client. It would be whatever client you choose to download. In your case I'd merely use the Outlook app.

On the Outlook App you can set it to sync your contacts with the iOS contacts (iCloud). It is a one-way-sync though so y'all tin can't add a contact in iCloud contacts and then have it sync to Outlook. You'd have to add it to Outlook and take it sync to iCloud contacts.

I'one thousand likewise interested in Modern Auth back up in Android. Please DO NOT advise the Outlook mobile app. Information technology is non a serious mobile mail app in 2018. The native apps for Android and iOS outclass information technology in every aspect. In iOS, native app has supported Modern Auth since iOS 11. In Outlook I cannot set alerts for individual email folders or choose which folders I want to sync on mobile. I cannot set specific aural alerts on a per sender basis. If you lot but have the Inbox binder and all of your mail goes there, Outlook is perfect for you. If you use multiple folders and apply rules to sort your post, Outlook mobile is completely useless. I cannot for the life of me sympathize why people recollect it's a viable culling. Using that app on my Android phone makes me feel like a Windows Phone user. Windows Telephone users know what I mean. Remember suffering through Microsoft apps that were worse than the same damn apps on Android and iOS? Outlook mobile gives you that experience on all platforms.
So can anyone suggest an mobile mail service app for Android that is actually useful for people who exercise real work? Distressing to sound like a cantankerous prick, but I came looking for what the OP originally asked for and the thread is littered with "try Outlook" every bit if no 1 with an Office 365 tenant knows that deplorable excuse for a mobile mail client exists.
